Dear Parishioners:

  • As both counties, Kitsap and Mason, move to Phase 2 of Re-Opening Business, our two parish, Gabriel – South Kitsap and Prince of Peace – Mason, are also in preparation for limited Re-Opening Mass as well. There are steps for our two parishes’ plans of limited re-opening need to be approved by our religious level of Deanery and the Archdiocese.  The Archdiocese will help us meet these requirements as we take the first step this week.  We will continue to communicate this process to you through, announcements, bulletin notice and emails, so, you will be informed.  We’re looking forward to have this process plans approved and able to have limited public Mass in a near future.  Please, pray and ready to step up to participate in different training areas in order to help our parish communities prepare for this process.
  • Congratulation to Archbishop Paul Etienne on his First Anniversary as Archbishop of Seattle. On June 7, last year, a “Rite of Reception” took place at St. James Cathedral to officially welcome Archbishop from the Archdiocese of Anchorage, Alaska.  Interestingly, Pope Francis had announced, last week, that the Archdiocese of Anchorage will now combine with the Diocese of Juneau to become the Archdiocese of Anchorage-Juneau and that make Archbishop Etienne, the last official Archbishop of Anchorage.  Once again, congratulation to Archbishop Etienne on his first anniversary from both our parishes.  Some of our parishioners from both parishes, Gabriel and Prince of Peace, were there to witness this special event and prayed for our Archbishop and Archdiocese.

***** HAPPY THE FEAST OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY SUNDAY*****

  • In one Gospel’s reading, Jesus says: “…. I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.  But when He comes, the Spirit of truth, He will guide you to all truth …”

As we celebrated the Feast of Pentecost last week, let’s us continue to pray and be opened for the “Coming of the Holy Spirit” to Christ’s gifts of Faith and Eternal Life.  May we renew in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the mystery of the Trinity who is Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, as we celebrate the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity at this weekend Masses.

Theologians describe the Trinity with two different terms:  Creation and Salvation.  The Blessed Trinity’s works of creation and salvation both serve as windows into the inner life of the Trinity.  The work of Creation is “exterior of God” and the work of Salvation is “interior of God”.  On this Sunday’s solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, we can reflect on God’s works of creation and salvation as a way to peer into God’s inner life as the Trinity.

  • “A word of thanks to the many families who have pledged and turned in your commitment envelopes to the Parish or Archdiocesan Office to support the Annual Catholic Appeal again this year 2020. Your continue supports are the testimony of the commitment for us to be “Church” today in our time.

We are closer in reaching our parish’s goal with your help; So, if you didn’t have an opportunity of filling your commitment envelop, please join with many of your parishioners to pledge toward our parish goal this week; the Archdiocese’s and Parish envelopes have been sent to your home in the last few weeks OR you can donate online, look for Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) Logo.

  • Please note that Anthony Guild is a long-time charitable organization in our parish community, the members of this group are celebrating their patron’s saint this weekend: Feast of St. Anthony Paduatraditionally known as someone who always helps finding things that were lost.  Those whose have named after this favorite saint; whether as first, middle, nickname, saint names … are honorary members of St. Anthony Guild.  St. Anthony Guild will keep you in their prayer on this special weekend
  • May the Joy and Blessing of the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity continue to help us actively involve in the Ministry of Jesus in our Church’s today.

Christ’s Peace,
Fr. Phuong Hoang
