Dear Graduating Senior,
The Father Dell Memorial Scholarship fund allows St. Gabriel parish to recognize the time, talent and dedication given by one or more graduating seniors to the parish community.
FATHER DELL PERPETUAL SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA
- Attends liturgy regularly at St. Gabriel parish. The family is registered in the parish.
- Active in volunteering at the parish in youth, religious education, social justice or liturgical ministries.
- Scholastic achievement (minimum 2.5 High School GPA or equivalent); will be enrolling in college or vocational school in the Fall of 2024.
- Good role model of Catholic values. Has received or is preparing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation.
- Will graduate high school/running start no later than June 8, 2024.
FATHER DELL SERVICE AWARD CRITERIA
- Students who do not have a 2.5 minimum GPA are encouraged to apply for the Father Dell Service Award if they meet the other above criteria.
To be considered for an award, please complete an application and submit it no later than March 31st, 2024 to the Faith Formation office. Include in your application packet the following supporting documents:
- The application form for the award you hope to receive.
- A copy of your high school transcript.
- Answers to the essay questions on the application form.
- A letter of recommendation. It may be a referral from a school teacher, coach, counselor, member of the parish, an employer, or other adult in the community with whom you have frequent contact. Do not include a letter from family members or parish staff at St. Gabriel.
- A photo of you that could be printed in the parish bulletin if you are chosen to receive an award. Optional: Email a digital photo to annie@stgabepop.org
- Any other information you think may aid the selection committee.
The number and recipients of this award will depend on the number and quality of applications submitted. The award committee will be solely responsible for selecting the recipient(s), subject to the final approval of the pastor. Neatness and accuracy will be taken into consideration. Every effort will be made to ensure the confidentiality of your application.
